The state also reached new highs in cannabis cultivation, with more than 65.6 million grams of biomass harvested during the month, underscoring strong patient demand and a maturing supply chain. Year-to-date, the state’s medical cannabis program has generated nearly $150 million in total sales. The latest monthly report shows that adults between 21 and 40 remain the program’s core demographic, making up nearly half of all registered patients. The state continues to maintain a broad medical network with 1,000 registered recommending medical providers and nearly 900 pharmacy agents. Salt Lake County remains the center of Utah’s medical cannabis market, serving more than 42,000 patients—over 40% of the statewide total. Utah County holds the second-largest patient base with 16,252 patients, followed by Davis County with 11,621.
Spending patterns indicate that a majority of patients continue to purchase regularly. More than 58,000 made at least one purchase in the last 30 days, and over 34,000 made two or more. Sales remained concentrated around core product categories: cartridges and vape pens generated $7.53 million in revenue, followed by flower at $5.14 million and infused edibles at $2.71 million. Nonmedicated accessories accounted for another $122,600. Patient discounts at pharmacies remained consistent with prior months.
Utah’s delivery network continues to expand, with multiple companies now servicing both rural and urban counties. Salt Lake, Davis, Tooele, and Weber counties offer the highest number of delivery options, while smaller counties like Beaver, Sanpete, Piute, and Juab maintain at least one provider. Delivery and pickup demand remained stable through October, with strong participation across urban areas.
Cultivation and manufacturing activity increased significantly in October. Licensed cultivators harvested more than 36,000 plants over the course of the month, broken into 434 planting batches. Daily harvest totals ranged from about 258,000 grams on the lower end to more than 11.2 million grams on the highest-volume day. Processors continued to turn biomass into finished products at a rapid pace, manufacturing more than 1.06 million grams of flower, 450,355 grams of fresh or frozen material, and 925,455 grams of trim. Pharmacies received over 171,000 cartridges, 101,796 infused edibles, 87,251 units of flower, and nearly 4,000 infused topicals and non-edible products for patient purchase.
State regulators conducted a wide range of inspections across cultivation, processing, courier operations, and pharmacies. Fourteen product label inspections were completed, along with multiple reviews of security standards and inventory protocols. A total of 14 violations were issued across several processor and cultivation sites, representing minor compliance issues rather than major enforcement actions.
The medical provider network remains robust, with 470 recommending providers based in Salt Lake County and more than 170 in Utah County. Weber, Washington, and Davis counties also maintain sizable provider bases. The presence of more than 1,200 recommending and pharmacy-affiliated medical professionals statewide helps maintain patient access as the program continues to grow.
Utah’s medical cannabis system has expanded steadily since its launch, and the October numbers reinforce that trajectory. With strong sales, rising patient participation, and increasing production capacity, the state’s tightly regulated medical marijuana market remains one of the most structured and data-driven programs in the country.
