The shop, located at 999 S Clinton Ave, is set to open Nov. 14 at 11 a.m., underscoring the expansion of New York’s regulated market and pushing the statewide network of licensed retailers past the 500 mark. State officials say New York’s adult-use rollout continues to broaden access to tested, compliant products while adding new storefronts across every region. The Finger Lakes now counts 38 licensed adult-use dispensaries, with Rochester’s latest opening adding to a cluster that has grown steadily through 2025. The milestone coincides with New York surpassing $2 billion in total adult-use retail sales, a benchmark reached as more communities gain local access and supply chains stabilize.
Green Comfort Dispensary’s opening will include a press event by the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) and ribbon-cutting before doors open to customers. Acting OCM Director Felicia A. B. Reid and Green Comfort General Manager Tim Tanavung are slated to offer short remarks alongside local officials and community partners. The ceremony is expected to be concise, with the emphasis on serving customers shortly thereafter.
The state’s continued pace of licensing and store openings reflects an effort to bring the illicit market into a regulated system while supporting equity-led ownership and local hiring. Rochester’s newest retail outlet adds another option for consumers in Monroe County and contributes to a maturing marketplace that has expanded product selection and competitive pricing throughout 2025.
