Mike Tyson is launching his popular line of cannabis gummies in Colorado, but they’re shaped like boxing gloves instead of ears.
Mike’s Knockout Gummies are the first edibles the legendary boxer has been able to sell in Colorado, although his first line of gummies – Mike Bites – was released in 2022, according to a news release.
Tyson 2.0’s Mike Bites are shaped like ears with the top missing – a reference to the boxer biting off part of Evander Holyfield’s right ear during a 1997 fight.
Colorado prohibits the manufacturing and sale of THC-infused edibles shaped like fruit, people or animals in an effort to keep children from thinking they’re snacks such as gummy bears.
“This launch demonstrates our commitment to innovation and our ability to adapt to different market regulations while still delivering the high-quality cannabis experiences our customers expect,” Adam Wilks, CEO of Tyson 2.0 parent Carma HoldCo,, said in a statement.
Tyson 2.0’s Mike Bites got pushback in Canada in 2022, when provincial wholesalers for recreational cannabis in Alberta and Quebec told MJBizDaily they wouldn’t sell the products.
Alberta officials noted at the time that Canadian law bars cannabis promotions through endorsements or depictions of people.
Mike’s Knockout Gummies are launching exclusively in Colorado through a partnership with Denver-based Seven Point Distributors.
