Job Title: Associate Buyer - Procurement 

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt 

Location: On-Site 5 Days a Week - Scottsdale, AZ

Who You Are: 

As an Associate Buyer you will be accountable for the planning and procurement within the production operation at each Curaleaf manufacturing site. You will work both internally and externally to ensure that all elements of these inputs are covered to maintain efficient operation throughout the supply chain. This position has a specific focus on tracking CAPEX items. You will keep track of all Purchases for every manufacturing site nationally and maintain them in the ERP system through the creation of purchase orders. You will also coordinate with cross-functional departments and track information related to each purchase such as proposals and invoices. Additional responsibilities may include placing orders, reviewing invoices, reconciling accounts, and identifying new opportunities as they arise. You must be a team player to consistently build strong relationships, resulting in lasting partnerships and favorable deals for the operation. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage and Monitor CAPEX: Oversee CAPEX purchases, log them into ERP systems, and track proposals and invoices through spreadsheets. 
  • Develop and Present Data: Present CAPEX data, purchasing timelines, and financials to internal teams like leadership, R&D, and engineering. 
  • Create and Implement Purchasing Strategies: Develop purchasing strategies aligned with financial goals for dispensaries, states, and regions. 
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Manage full lifecycle of buying, including vendor meetings, pricing negotiations, and establishing long-term contracts. 
  • Audit and Improve Processes: Audit purchasing processes to drive “best in class” behaviors and continuously improve performance standards. 
  • Market Analysis and Business Development: Understand the competitive landscape and identify new business opportunities for Curaleaf’s brands and products. 
  • Coordinate Shipments and Supply Chain Operations: Oversee shipments, data entry, and reporting across all sites in the supply chain. 
  • Collaboration and Communication: Actively participate in departmental meetings and cross-functional projects to ensure smooth communication and continuous improvement. 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Interpersonal skills for communication on vendor and colleague levels 
  • Strong ability to negotiate with confidence. 
  • Ability to work efficiently towards a set deadline. 
  • Proficiency in Excel 
  • Knowledge of business data analysis and basic business software 
  • Positive and energetic attitude and personality comfortable with rapid change and growth 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior experience with creating purchase orders, new product inventory planning, inventory management, vendor relations, procurement, and or supply chain. 
  • Critical thinking, sound decision-making, and effective interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work individually while contributing to the goal of their office team. 

Even Better If: 

  • You have experience with ERP Systems 
  • You have experience in the cannabis industry 

 

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, talk or hear, use hands to finger or feel, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
