Cannabis Culture, the historic Vancouver-based cannabis company that was instrumental in helping legalize cannabis in Canada, is back with its first LEGAL cannabis store in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
As key players in Canada’s cannabis activism community, Cannabis Culture has been fighting for cannabis law reform for 30 years, and proudly worked to help change the laws in Canada to allow for legal cannabis stores.
“Cannabis Culture has always believed in providing high-quality products for cannabis consumers and using the proceeds to finance law reform,” Cannabis Culture CEO Jodie Giesz-Ramsay said. “Legalization in Canada would not exist without Cannabis Culture’s long history of political campaigns and educational efforts.”
Cannabis Culture is delighted to return to Ontario with its first fully-legal cannabis store at 5927 Thorold Stone Road, in Niagara Falls.
“Through licensing the Cannabis Culture brand to legal stores and cannabis products, we aim to highlight the growers and retail operators that contribute so much to Canada’s culture and economy,” Giesz-Ramsay said.
Cannabis Culture will utilize years of experience in the cannabis industry to help customers find high-quality products from the country’s best growers and producers.
As many legal cannabis consumers in Canada have figured out, the legal system isn’t perfect. Finding quality products for an affordable price can be difficult. Due to overregulation, Canada’s legal cannabis market is not prospering as well as it should be. Reforms are necessary to make things fair for consumers and business owners.
“Overregulation and excessive taxation are holding back Canadian entrepreneurs and companies,” Giesz-Ramsay said. “The high costs of doing business are stifling economic growth, and crippling a national homegrown industry that employs and serves Canadians.”
CC plans to continue its quest for marijuana freedom by advocating for fundamental changes to Canada’s legal cannabis system. The company is launching a new advocacy group called FAIR Cannabis, which will educate Canadians about the many challenges faced by cannabis consumers and the cannabis industry.
“Our new FAIR Cannabis advocacy organization and resource hub is designed to bring together all parts of the Canadian cannabis industry. We encourage consumers, businesses and advocates to engage with FAIR Cannabis, and help promote regulatory reform and advancements for the benefit of all Canadians.”

CC has always pushed the boundaries of the law in Canada with an international print magazine, head-shops, a seed company, vapour lounges, and large-scale events like 4/20 Vancouver. Before cannabis was legalized in Canada, Cannabis Culture opened some of the first recreational cannabis dispensaries across the country, as a form of civil disobedience and a way to bring positive change. Unfortunately, the company was forced by the government to close its stores in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec (with the exception of Cannabis Culture Headquarters in Vancouver) before Canada fully legalized cannabis.
Cannabis Culture is extremely proud to be joining the community of Niagara Falls in Ontario, and will be hosting a GRAND OPENING PARTY on March 1, 2025.
