MSO Curaleaf’s hemp-derived THC seltzers to hit Total Wine shelves

U.S. liquor retail chain Total Wine & More is partnering with Curaleaf Holdings to offer the cannabis multistate operator’s hemp-derived THC seltzers at more than 100 of its stores in nine markets.
Curaleaf’s Select Zero Proof Hemp Seltzers will be available in Total Wine stores in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas, according to a Thursday news release.
The MSO anticipates expanding into other states in the coming months.
“Continuing to expand our Select Hemp beverages into physical storefronts through a renowned U.S. beverage retailer represents a significant step forward in the growth of our hemp business,” Boris Jordan, chair and CEO of New York-based Curaleaf, said in a statement.
“Attitudes toward beverage consumption continue to shift, and many are seeking non-alcoholic options, particularly among younger adult consumers.”
Jordan said that offering the seltzers through one of the nation’s largest wine and spirits retailers demonstrates its commitment to being “a trusted source … for rigorously tested hemp THC products” in a market that lacks oversight.

Total Wine has dabbled in the cannabis space before, having designated a THC and CBD beverage section at some of its Minnesota stores in November.
The Maryland-based company started offering delivery of THC and CBD drinks last April.
