Missouri Allocates $23.3 Million in Cannabis Funds to Veterans and Drug Treatment Programs

This transfer, as outlined in Article XIV, Section 2, of the Missouri Constitution, was authorized by the Supplemental Budget (House Bill 14.495) for Fiscal Year 25 passed by the legislature.

Missourians voted in November 2018 to adopt Constitutional Amendment 2, which is now known as Article XIV. The amendment includes a provision requiring that fees and taxes generated by the state’s marijuana program, minus operational expenses, be transferred agencies supporting veterans and drug treatment programs.
