Connecticut Marijuana Sales Top $160 Million in 2025, Price Per Gram Down 26%

July’s figure includes $18,252,583 from adult-use purchases and $6,036,455 from medical marijuana. The July total is slightly higher than June’s $23.8 million, when adult-use sales reached $17.7 million and medical sales brought in $6.1 million.

So far in 2025, Connecticut has sold $161,069,978 worth of marijuana products through licensed outlets. Adult-use sales continue to account for the majority, though the medical program remains steady with over $41 million in purchases year to date.

The average price of marijuana dropped to $8.89 per gram in July, the lowest since legal sales began in January 2023. Prices are down more than 25% from July 2024, when the average was $12.16 per gram, yet July 2025 sales still matched the previous year’s pace at roughly $24.6 million.

Marijuana in Connecticut is taxed at 6.35% for adult-use purchases, along with a THC-based excise tax, while medical sales remain tax-free. The state legalized marijuana in 2021, with legal sales beginning in January 2023. Adults 21 and older may possess up to 1.5 ounces in public and store up to five ounces at home, and households are allowed to cultivate up to six plants.
