Oklahoma Cannabis Legalization Initiative Now Available for Signing at Over 450 Locations, Interactive Map Available

The initiative campaign, led by Oklahomans for Responsible Cannabis Action, has been continually expanding its statewide network of petition hosting locations throughout the state, with petitions currently available to sign in over 115 cities. The initiative—State Question 837—would legalize marijuana for individuals 21 and older, allowing for possession, home cultivation of up to 12 plants, and a licensed and regulated system of cannabis retail outlets. Cannabis and cannabis products would be taxed at 10%.

To secure a place on the 2026 general election ballot, organizers need to collect roughly 173,000 valid signatures by early November. A spokesperson for Oklahomans for Responsible Cannabis Action tells us that they plan to release information on how many signatures they’ve collected in the coming days.

If voters approve the measure, Oklahoma would become the 25th state to allow recreational marijuana, building on its already massive medical program, second in size only to Florida. That state is also set to vote on a legalization measure in 2026.
