That total includes $80 million in adult-use purchases and $21 million in medical sales, marking the third month this year with combined sales surpassing $100 million. Flower once again dominated the market, generating $58 million in revenue. Concentrates followed with $31 million, while edibles brought in $12 million. The remainder came from products such as tinctures, topicals, and capsules. The average price per gram in August was $8.57.
The August figures push Maryland’s year-to-date marijuana sales past earlier milestones, underscoring the continued strength of the legal market since adult-use sales launched in July 2023.
Revenue from marijuana sales contributes to multiple state initiatives, including the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund, public school construction, substance misuse prevention, and regulatory oversight. The Maryland Cannabis Administration continues to oversee compliance and licensing across the state’s regulated industry.
