That marks a roughly 10% increase from the $127 million sold in September 2024.

So far this year, sales have surpassed $1.28 billion, putting Florida on pace for another record-breaking year in its medical-only market. While September’s total was below April’s $155 million high, it reflects steady growth compared to last year. Flower remains the dominant product, accounting for 47% of sales, followed by vape pens at 20%. Concentrates captured 12%, edibles 11%, and pre-rolls 4%. The remaining share came from other marijuana products like topicals.

Florida’s medical marijuana program, approved by voters in 2016 and launched in 2017, now serves over 923,000 patients across hundreds of dispensaries. Patients with conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, and chronic pain are eligible to participate with a physician’s recommendation.

Meanwhile, Smart & Safe Florida continues its campaign to put recreational legalization on the 2026 ballot. The group has collected about three-quarters of the required signatures ahead of the February 2026 deadline, setting up the possibility that Florida could soon expand from medical to full adult-use sales.
