Señorita, a brand of zero-proof cocktails infused with hemp-derived THC, announced that its drinks are now being stocked at Circle K locations throughout the Sunshine State. The company’s store locator currently lists hundreds of Circle K locations. Florida is home to over 900 Circle K stores, giving the rollout an enormous retail footprint. For comparison, the company operates just over 6,000 locations nationwide, meaning nearly 1 in 7 Circle K stores are in Florida.

The beverages come in flavors such as Mango Margarita and Lime Jalapeño Margarita, with 5 mg and 10 mg THC options per 12-ounce can. Marketed as alcohol-free cocktails, the drinks are designed to mimic the social experience of a cocktail without the alcohol buzz.

Although marijuana remains illegal for recreational use in Florida, medical cannabis has been legal since voters approved it in 2016. What makes products like Señorita possible in Circle K is the 2018 Farm Bill, which legalized hemp and its derivatives so long as products contain no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC by dry weight. This legal distinction has allowed hemp-derived THC drinks and edibles to proliferate nationwide, even in states without legal marijuana.

Florida lawmakers have taken notice. Several bills moving through the legislature this year propose restrictions on hemp-derived THC products, citing concerns about potency, labeling, and youth access. One measure would ban the sale of THC drinks in convenience stores and gas stations altogether, limiting them to liquor-licensed retailers. At the federal level, Congress is also weighing whether to amend the Farm Bill to close what critics call a loophole allowing intoxicating hemp products to be sold outside marijuana regulations.

For now, though, the move puts THC beverages in one of the state’s most ubiquitous convenience store chains. With nearly a thousand locations stretching from Pensacola to Miami, Circle K’s rollout of Señorita drinks marks one of the largest retail launches yet for hemp-derived THC beverages.
