The monthly total is 6.5% higher than the CA$445 million sold in September 2024, reflecting steady year-over-year growth in the country’s regulated market. Ontario again led all provinces, generating CA$187 million in sales for the month. Alberta followed with CA$81 million, while British Columbia recorded CA$69 million and Quebec reported CA$66 million. Those four provinces accounted for the overwhelming majority of national marijuana sales.
Several smaller provinces also posted consistent numbers, contributing to the growing national total. Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island collectively added tens of millions more in September revenue, while the northern territories contributed a modest but stable share.
With September now included, year-to-date marijuana sales in 2025 have climbed past CA$4.07 billion, putting the industry on track for another record-setting year. Rising demand, more efficient retail distribution, and the continued expansion of the country’s licensed storefront network all remain key drivers as Canada enters the final quarter of 2025.
