Florida Medical Cannabis Program Has 930,779 Registered Patients, 737 Licensed Dispensaries
The report shows the program maintaining its position as the largest medical marijuana system in the country, with the state processing complete patient applications in about five business days and taking an additional five business days to print identification cards. Patients whose applications are approved can immediately begin purchasing medical marijuana using their approval email while awaiting their physical card. Dispensary activity during the week covering December 12 through December 18 remained substantial. Across Florida, medical marijuana treatment centers reported a combined total of more than 432 million milligrams of THC dispensed, along with 146,512.729 ounces of marijuana in a form for smoking. Low-THC cannabis accounted for a negligible share of overall activity, totaling just 361 milligrams of CBD statewide during the period.
Trulieve again led all operators by a wide margin, reporting over 113 million milligrams of THC dispensed and more than 52,312 ounces of smokable marijuana across 162 dispensing locations. Other major operators posting significant weekly totals included MÜV, Curaleaf Florida, Ayr Cannabis Dispensary, and Surterra Wellness, each reporting tens of millions of milligrams of THC distributed to patients. Smaller operators and newer entrants continued to contribute modest but measurable volumes, reflecting the program’s broad geographic footprint.
The update also noted the approval of three new dispensing locations during the week, with Green Dragon opening in Yulee, Sunnyside opening in Tamarac, and The Flowery adding a location in Orange Park. These additions bring the total number of authorized dispensing locations statewide to 737. Trulieve by far had the most dispensaries at 162, followed by MÜV at 82, Curaleaf at 69, Ayr at 66 and Surterra Wellness at 45.
Together, the data underscores the continued growth and normalization of Florida’s medical marijuana system, both in patient participation and in the volume of regulated products reaching patients across the state.
