Florida’s medical marijuana market continues to operate at an extraordinary pace in the first weeks of 2026, according to a new update from the Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU). When combining the first five reports of the year — covering January 2 through February 5 — the totals show a staggering amount of product dispensed to qualified patients in just over a month.
Across these five reporting periods, Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers dispensed a combined 2,032,763,207 milligrams of THC, 1,379 milligrams of CBD, and 700,041.619 ounces of marijuana in a form for smoking.
These figures come from the OMMU’s weekly summaries for January 2–8, January 9–15, January 16–22, January 23–29, and January 30–February 5, which detail statewide dispensing totals across all licensed operators.
During the week of January 2–8 alone, dispensaries reported 366,346,846 mg of THC and 130,574.993 ounces of smokable marijuana dispensed to patients. That was followed by 403,650,697 mg THC and 138,653.537 ounces the next week. The week of January 16–22 saw 421,136,092 mg THC and 140,119.560 ounces, followed by 412,543,788 mg THC and 143,037.074 ounces during January 23–29. The most recent report, January 30–February 5, showed 429,085,784 mg THC and 147,656.455 ounces dispensed.
Notably, smokable marijuana has steadily increased week over week through the start of the year, climbing from 130,574 ounces in early January to nearly 148,000 ounces in early February.
Low-THC cannabis measured in CBD remains a very small portion of overall dispensing activity, totaling just 1,379 mg across all five weeks — a tiny fraction compared to THC dispensing.
As of the February 6 report, Florida has 932,591 qualified patients with active medical marijuana ID cards, underscoring how large and mature the state’s program has become. No other state has more medical cannabis patients, although Oklahoma has more dispensaries.
