The figures show Anchorage remained a major marijuana market throughout the year, with monthly sales never dropping below $8.1 million. The strongest month for marijuana sales in Anchorage was October, when retailers recorded $9,295,985 in taxable sales and $464,799 in tax revenue. August was close behind at $9,228,171, followed by December at $9,121,569. March and May also posted solid totals, coming in at $8,878,760 and $8,942,222, respectively.
At the lower end, February had the weakest sales month of the year at $8,141,788, producing $407,089 in tax revenue. September also came in on the lighter side, with $8,392,318 in sales and $419,616 in taxes. Even so, the year’s monthly figures were relatively steady overall, with no month falling below $8 million.
The report, issued by the Municipality of Anchorage’s Finance Department, reflects taxable retail sales of both marijuana and marijuana products for calendar year 2025. Based on the yearly totals, Anchorage averaged about $8.79 million in marijuana sales per month and roughly $439,280 in monthly marijuana tax revenue.
The $105 million in sales in slightly below the $108 million sold in 2024, due in large part to a notable decrease in average prices (down around 10%).
