Ohio Marijuana Sales Top $231 Million in 2026 as Dispensary Count Reaches 204
- Ohio’s legal marijuana market has generated over $231 million in sales in 2026 so far, with $196 million from adult-use and $35 million from medical marijuana.
- There are currently 204 dispensaries with dual-use certificates, enabling them to sell both medical and recreational marijuana, contributing to strong sales growth.
- The average prices for marijuana products are $6.31 per gram for dried flower, $17.86 for one-tenth of an ounce, and $24.54 for manufactured items.
- Since legalizing adult-use marijuana in 2023 and starting sales in 2024, Ohio’s market has expanded rapidly, approaching $200 million in recreational sales in early 2026 combined with steady medical demand.
Ohio’s legal marijuana market has generated $231,349,582 in total sales so far in 2026 (as of March 14), according to new data from the Division of Cannabis Control. Of that amount, $196,484,609 came from adult-use sales, while medical marijuana sales reached $34,864,973. The new figures bring Ohio’s all-time marijuana sales to $3,616,572,195 across 39,363,326 transactions, underscoring the size of a market that continues to expand as more stores secure approval to serve both recreational consumers and registered patients.
There are now 204 dispensaries in Ohio with dual-use certificates, allowing them to sell both medical and adult-use marijuana. That continued growth in store access has helped fuel strong sales early in 2026, with the recreational side of the market clearly driving most of the revenue.
Pricing data released with the latest totals shows the average cost of dried marijuana flower at $6.31 per gram. The average price for one-tenth of an ounce stands at $17.86, while manufactured marijuana products are averaging $24.54.
The numbers add to the momentum Ohio has seen since launching adult-use sales, with the state already approaching $200 million in recreational purchases less than three months into the year. Combined with continued medical demand, that has kept total sales climbing at a notable pace.
Ohio voters approved legalizing adult-use marijuana in 2023, with licensed sales launching in 2024 through the state’s existing dispensary system. Since then, the market has continued to grow through a mix of recreational demand, ongoing medical purchases and a steadily increasing number of dual-use outlets operating across the state.
