Florida voters approved medical marijuana in 2016 through Amendment 2, launching one of the nation’s largest regulated markets. The state operates under a vertically integrated system, allowing licensed businesses to cultivate, process, and sell marijuana products. Qualified patients may purchase a variety of products, with smokable marijuana capped at 2.5 ounces per 35-day period unless a physician authorizes more. Florida does not impose a statewide excise tax on medical marijuana.
