Florida medical marijuana dispensaries sold another 414.4 million milligrams of THC during the first week of May, pushing the state’s 2026 total to more than 7.8 billion milligrams.

The newest weekly update from the Office of Medical Marijuana Use, covering May 1 through May 7, also shows patients purchased 146,382.835 ounces of smokable marijuana during the week. Combined with totals reported through April 30, Florida dispensaries have now sold 7,805,192,409 milligrams of THC and 2,636,158.704 ounces of smokable marijuana so far this year.

The report also shows continued retail growth, with four additional dispensaries approved during the week. The new locations bring Florida’s statewide total to 762 dispensaries, up from 758 in the prior report.

The newly approved dispensaries include Curaleaf locations in Fernandina Beach and Jacksonville, a Mint Cannabis store in Madison and a One Plant Cannabis location in Miami Beach.

Trulieve continued to account for the largest share of sales, reporting 104,859,462 milligrams of THC and 50,816.496 ounces of smokable marijuana sold during the week across 169 locations. MÜV reported 49,538,159 milligrams of THC and 17,325.239 ounces, while Curaleaf reported 47,602,612 milligrams of THC and 15,924.303 ounces across 73 locations.

Florida had 925,662 active qualified patients as of May 8, an increase from 924,820 in the previous weekly update, but a decrease from the all-time high of around 932,000.

Florida voters approved medical marijuana in 2016 through Amendment 2. The program operates under a vertically integrated system, with licensed businesses allowed to cultivate, process and sell marijuana products. Patients are typically limited to 2.5 ounces of smokable marijuana every 35 days unless a physician approves an exemption, and the state does not impose a statewide excise tax on medical marijuana.
