The City of Boston will host its fourth annual Cannabis Empowerment Week from June 15 through June 21, with a focus on social consumption and what it could look like in the city.

The weeklong initiative, led by the City of Boston Cannabis Industry Development Team, is designed to highlight the marijuana industry through education, storytelling, community events and public programming. First launched in 2023, Cannabis Empowerment Week has become an annual effort to spotlight the businesses, workers, entrepreneurs and communities helping shape Boston’s marijuana landscape.

This year’s theme, Social in the City, will examine the future of on-site consumption through a series of interactive and educational events. The city says the programming will explore marijuana through several lenses, including equity, policy, entrepreneurship, hospitality, wellness, workforce development and community impact.

The 2026 schedule begins June 15 with High Standards, followed by Consuming on Site on June 16 and High Hospitality on June 17. The week continues with LIVE and LIT on June 18, BENTOPIA on June 19, Juneteenth Elevated on June 20 and Fathers in Cannabis on June 21.

Past Cannabis Empowerment Week events have included workshops, business spotlights, video campaigns, networking events, industry walkthroughs, public forums and community-centered gatherings.

The city says residents can register for individual events or the full week of programming.
