Despite Florida remaining a medical-only state, year-to-date sales for its legal cannabis market now top 9.1 billion milligrams of THC and more than 3 million ounces of smokable marijuana.

According to the latest weekly update from the Office of Medical Marijuana Use, covering May 22 through May 28, licensed medical marijuana treatment centers dispensed 438,073,511 milligrams of THC and 150,632.868 ounces of marijuana in a form for smoking.

When added to previously reported 2026 totals, dispensaries have now sold 9,106,297,543 milligrams of THC and 3,084,570.742 ounces of smokable marijuana so far this year.

Florida’s active patient count also continued to climb. The state reported 929,360 active qualified patients as of May 29, an increase of 1,098 from the prior weekly report.

The number of approved dispensing locations also increased to 766, with Mint Cannabis in Spring Hill listed as the newest location approved during the week.

Trulieve again led the state in both categories, dispensing 109,299,099 milligrams of THC and 48,822.845 ounces of smokable marijuana across 169 locations. MÜV reported 56,757,170 milligrams of THC and 18,984.942 ounces, followed by Curaleaf Florida with 48,159,750 milligrams of THC and 15,509.280 ounces.

Ayr Cannabis Dispensary reported 35,437,893 milligrams of THC and 9,119.010 ounces, while Surterra Wellness dispensed 35,377,579 milligrams of THC and 8,105.825 ounces.

Florida voters approved medical marijuana in 2016 through Amendment 2. The state’s program is vertically integrated, with licensed medical marijuana treatment centers authorized to cultivate, process and dispense products. Patients are generally limited to 2.5 ounces of smokable marijuana every 35 days unless a physician approves an exemption, and Florida does not impose a statewide excise tax on medical marijuana.
