Aurora Cannabis says it has expanded its support for veteran-focused organizations across Canada through its Strains for Heroes program, which directs a portion of product profits to groups serving veterans and their families.

The Canadian medical marijuana company announced today that 5% of net profits from Strains for Heroes products are donated annually to veteran-focused organizations, up to CA$200,000.

Aurora said its latest contributions support programs tied to food security, mental health awareness, leadership development and community connection.

“At a time when support matters most, we remain committed to showing up for Veterans in ways that matter,” said Geoff Hoover, senior vice president of commercial Canada at Aurora. “That starts with listening, understanding what Veterans need today, and engaging with them directly to support the work being done in Veteran communities across the country. As a medical cannabis company, we also have a responsibility to ensure our Veteran programs support the real experiences of Veteran patients. We’re proud to stand alongside these organizations making a difference.”

According to Aurora, recent donations include support for the Veteran Association Food Bank to help distribute food to veteran families, along with contributions to the Captain Nichola Goddard Fund, which helps servicewomen, female veterans and their families access services.

The company said it also provided support for mental health awareness efforts including Sach in Motion and Sea to Sea for PTSD, with funds going toward treatment and education programs.

Strains for Heroes was launched in 2022 and was built in collaboration with veteran patients. Aurora said the program helps guide the development of select medical marijuana products while providing ongoing support to veteran organizations.

Aurora said it also works with several veteran-focused groups through donations, community outreach and efforts to raise awareness, including Highway for Heroes, Quilts of Valour Canada, True Patriot Love, Fire Team K-9 and Veterans Association.

Aurora, which trades on the NASDAQ and TSX under the symbol ACB, serves medical marijuana markets in Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
