Florida Medical Cannabis Sales Hit Record $188.7 Million in May, Near $850 Million in 2026

Florida’s medical marijuana market set a new monthly sales record in May, marking the second consecutive month that dispensaries have reached a new high.
Licensed medical marijuana dispensaries generated $188,685,727 in sales in May, according to data from the research firm Headset. That tops the previous record of $179,708,279 set in April by nearly $9 million.
May’s total also marks a sharp increase from earlier in the year. Florida dispensaries sold $168,587,745 in March, $148,435,322 in February and $162,269,019 in January.
Combined, Florida medical marijuana dispensaries have generated $847,686,092 in sales through the first five months of 2026, putting the market on pace to surpass $2 billion for the full year if current trends continue.
Flower remained the top-selling product category in May, accounting for 45% of all medical marijuana sales. Vapor pens were second at 24.5%, followed by edibles at 14.5%. Prerolls made up 7% of sales, with all other products combining for the remaining 9%.
Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment legalizing medical marijuana in 2016, expanding on an earlier limited low-THC program.
