Curaleaf Holdings will open its 74th Florida medical marijuana dispensary Friday, expanding the company’s nationwide retail footprint to 166 locations.
The new dispensary, located at 2115 S. Ridgewood Ave. in Edgewater, will be Curaleaf’s second location in Volusia County.
The store will offer several of the company’s marijuana brands and products, including Reef flower, Anthem pre-rolls, Dark Heart flower, Grassroots flower and Select vape products.
“Our new Curaleaf Edgewater location marks our 74th Florida medical dispensary and our second location in Volusia County,” Curaleaf Chairman and CEO Boris Jordan said in a statement.
Jordan said the company remains focused on identifying areas of Florida that could benefit from greater access to medical marijuana. Approximately 4% of Florida’s population is currently enrolled in the state’s medical marijuana program, according to the company.
Although the Edgewater dispensary will begin serving patients July 17, Curaleaf will hold its grand opening celebration July 24 and July 25. The event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, product promotions, merchandise, hourly giveaways and an opportunity to win a tour of one of the company’s cultivation facilities.
The dispensary will operate from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Florida voters legalized medical marijuana through a constitutional amendment approved in 2016. The state does not currently allow recreational marijuana sales.
Curaleaf is headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, and operates marijuana businesses in medical and recreational markets across the United States. The company’s brands include Curaleaf, Select, Grassroots, Find, Dark Heart and Anthem.
