According to a report released by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, sales from January through June were down slightly from the $144 million generated during the same period in 2025, with a drop in prices a likely factor.
The average purchase at Arkansas medical marijuana dispensaries during the first half of the year was $75.14, and the state collected $16.8 million in medical marijuana tax revenue between January and June through its 6.5% sales tax and 4% privilege tax.
Meanwhile, the number of registered medical marijuana patients has continued to grow. The Arkansas Department of Health reported 119,074 active patient cards as of July 11, up from 115,501 in May.
That represents an increase of 3,573 patients, or approximately 3.1%, over roughly two months.
Arkansas voters approved medical marijuana through a constitutional amendment in 2016, with dispensary sales beginning in May 2019. The state’s program allows qualifying patients with a physician’s certification to purchase marijuana from licensed dispensaries.
