Montana marijuana sales reached $29.99 million in July, the second-highest monthly total since recreational sales began. Sales through the first seven months of 2026 reached nearly $192 million, up about 2.1% from the same period last year.
Canopy Growth reported CA$81.2 million in net revenue for its first quarter of fiscal year 2027, up 13% from a year earlier. Cannabis revenue increased 14% to CA$65.1 million, while the company’s net loss fell 68% to CA$14.6 million.
The STATES 2.0 Act gained its first new cosponsor in nearly 11 months, with Rep. Troy Carter (D-LA) joining the bipartisan federal marijuana reform proposal. The measure would protect state-legal marijuana activity from federal prohibition and provide protections from Section 280E of the federal tax code.
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz urged senators to reject an amendment that would remove a proposed delay to new federal hemp restrictions. Oz argued the amendment could jeopardize access to qualifying hemp-derived CBD products through federal healthcare programs.
The New York Cannabis Control Board approved 25 new adult-use marijuana licenses, bringing the statewide total to 2,322. The approvals included cultivators, processors and retailers, while regulators also approved dozens of license renewals and amendments.

Cannabis extracts containing THC, CBD and CBG produced differing effects on immune activity in a new study, with THC-CBD, CBD-dominant and CBG-dominant extracts significantly reducing viral levels in infected cells. Researchers said the findings demonstrate that different cannabis chemotypes can produce substantially different biological effects.
Trulieve Cannabis Corp. reported $271 million in second-quarter revenue, $98 million in adjusted EBITDA and a 60% gross margin. The company generated $53 million in operating cash flow and ended the quarter with $325 million in cash.
