Florida’s medical marijuana market has sold more than 14.2 billion milligrams of THC and nearly 5 million ounces of smokable marijuana in 2026 through August 21, according to the state’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use.
During the August 14 through August 20 reporting period, dispensaries sold 439,096,212 milligrams of THC and 152,157.424 ounces of marijuana in a form for smoking. The state reported 939,639 qualified patients with active identification cards and 776 dispensing locations.
Combined with previously reported totals, that brings year-to-date dispensations to 14,232,638,820 milligrams of THC and 4,869,980.254 ounces of smokable marijuana.
The newest figures represent an increase from August 7 through August 13, when dispensaries reported 423,711,088 milligrams of THC and 148,227.595 ounces of smokable marijuana. THC dispensations increased approximately 3.6% week over week, while smokable marijuana sales rose about 2.7%.
Florida’s active patient count declined slightly in the newest report, falling by 89 from 939,728 a week earlier. However, the total remains 258 higher than the 939,381 patients reported two weeks earlier.
Trulieve remained the state’s largest operator during the newest reporting period, dispensing 115,634,297 milligrams of THC and 52,634.756 ounces of smokable marijuana through 170 locations. MÜV followed with 55,736,829 milligrams and 16,986.272 ounces, while Curaleaf Florida reported 46,920,375 milligrams and 16,328.120 ounces. Ayr Cannabis Dispensary sold 38,145,958 milligrams of THC and 8,676.810 ounces.
Other operators with notable totals included FLUENT, with 20,969,709 milligrams of THC and 4,008.771 ounces; GTI Florida, with 20,566,971 milligrams and 4,691.403 ounces; and Green Dragon, with 20,436,335 milligrams and 7,531.358 ounces.
The number of dispensing locations increased from 774 to 776 over the two-week period. Newly approved locations included a Goldflower Cannabis store in North Miami and a Sanctuary Cannabis location in Fort Lauderdale.
Florida voters legalized medical marijuana through Amendment 2 in 2016. The state operates a vertically integrated system in which licensed medical marijuana treatment centers cultivate, process and dispense marijuana to registered patients.
