Missouri regulators issued a marijuana recall today for products originating from GF Extraction Lab LLC after determining they contain cannabinoids produced through chemical modification, conversion or synthetic derivation.
The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) announced the recall September 2 in partnership with GF Extraction Lab LLC, manufacturing license MAN000042.
According to DCR, state regulations allow the agency to issue a public recall notice when marijuana products present a potential threat to health and safety.
No adverse reactions associated with the recalled products have been reported to regulators.
DCR said the affected products contain cannabinoids that were “produced through chemical modification, conversion, or synthetic derivation of cannabinoids.” The agency did not identify any reported illnesses or injuries associated with the products in its announcement.
A full list of affected products has been posted on the Division of Cannabis Regulation’s product recall website.
Patients and consumers who purchased any of the recalled products are being advised to stop using them immediately. Unused products may either be discarded or returned to the dispensary where they were purchased.
For medical marijuana patients, returned products will not count toward their state purchase limit.
Anyone who believes they are experiencing an adverse reaction is advised to seek immediate medical attention and report the incident to DCR through the agency’s complaint system or by emailing CannabisComplaints@health.mo.gov.
Missouri requires marijuana sold through its regulated market to meet state rules governing testing, tracking, packaging and other health and safety requirements. Products are subject to mandatory testing for potency and contaminants including pesticides, mold, heavy metals and residual solvents.
