Florida Medical Marijuana Sales Top 15 Billion Milligrams of THC and 5.17 Million Ounces of Flower in 2026, Patient Count Continues to Rise

Florida medical marijuana patients have purchased more than 15 billion milligrams of THC and 5.17 million ounces of smokable marijuana so far in 2026, according to the latest weekly report from the Florida Department of Health’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU).
OMMU reported that licensed medical marijuana treatment centers dispensed 435,756,323 milligrams of THC and 152,876.954 ounces of marijuana in a form for smoking between August 28 and September 3.
Adding the latest figures to previously reported totals brings Florida’s 2026 year-to-date dispensations to 15,094,927,489 milligrams of THC and 5,170,918.560 ounces of smokable marijuana.
The state’s medical marijuana patient population also continued to grow. Florida had 941,509 qualified patients with active identification cards as of September 4, up from 940,116 in the previous weekly report. That represents an increase of 1,393 patients in one week.
Trulieve remained by far the state’s largest operator during the latest reporting period, dispensing 110,047,362 milligrams of THC and 50,464.682 ounces of smokable marijuana across 170 locations. MÜV followed with 51,809,098 milligrams of THC and 17,972.757 ounces, while Curaleaf dispensed 48,726,367 milligrams of THC and 16,523.884 ounces.
The Department of Health also approved a new Curaleaf location in Riverview during the week of August 28 through September 3, bringing the total number of statewide dispensaries to 779.
Florida voters legalized medical marijuana through a constitutional amendment approved in 2016. The state operates the largest medical marijuana programs in the country in terms of patients, with licensed treatment centers authorized to cultivate, process and dispense marijuana to qualified patients. Only Oklahoma has more licensed dispensaries.
