Vermont Lt. Gov. Facing $5,000 Fine for Unlicensed Cannabis Grow Site

Vermont Lt. Gov. John Rodgers (R) is facing a $5,000 fine from the state Cannabis Control Board for growing hundreds of cannabis plants at an unlicensed location, VTDigger reports.
Rodgers does have a license to grow cannabis at a specific property in Glover. However, a state inspector said they found “approximately 200 cannabis seedlings” in a greenhouse at another Glover site that “has never been authorized as a site of cultivation activities.”
According to a notice obtained by VTDigger, officials told Rodgers he must either resolve the multi-location issues by getting properly licensed at both locations, or end all cultivation activities at the second site.
Rodgers, who is running for reelection and has long advocated for the Vermont cannabis industry, called the incident “a routine and common administrative matter,” and said that he’s “working through the normal process with the CCB to get it resolved.
