Georgia Regulators Approve Three New Medical Marijuana Dispensary Licenses, Bringing Total to 22

Georgia marijuana regulators approved three new dispensing licenses Wednesday, potentially increasing the number of state-issued medical marijuana dispensary licenses from 19 to 22.

The Georgia Access to Medical Cannabis Commission approved one dispensing license tied to FFD GA Holdings LLC, which operates Fine Fettle in the state, along with two dispensing licenses for TheraTrue Georgia LLC, operator of True Bliss.

The commission’s license database listed 19 active dispensing licenses before Wednesday’s meeting. Once the newly approved licenses are formally issued and added to the database, the statewide total would increase to 22.

The approvals continue an expansion of Georgia’s medical marijuana system as patient enrollment and access have grown significantly in 2026. The state’s licensed producers are allowed to operate dispensaries in addition to the independent pharmacies authorized to dispense certain medical marijuana products.

Commissioners also approved renewal-related production license items for Botanical Sciences LLC and Trulieve GA Inc. Botanical Sciences and Trulieve hold Georgia’s two Class 1 production licenses, which allow significantly larger cultivation operations than the state’s four Class 2 licensees.

The commission separately approved its fiscal year 2028 budget request.

Wednesday’s business meeting was held alongside a public hearing on a wide-ranging package of proposed changes to Georgia’s medical marijuana regulations. The proposals cover production and dispensing licensees, product testing and tracking, enforcement, delivery, research permits and other portions of the state program.

The commission is scheduled to vote on the proposed regulatory changes on September 30.
