The Marijuana Herald reviewed the latest available data from cannabis research firm Headset and state cannabis agencies, supplementing those sources with data from the strain review and dispensary marketplace site Leafly when a state-level strain ranking was not otherwise publicly available.
For the 15 markets currently tracked by Headset, the rankings below use the firm’s September 2026 data snapshot, which reflects August sales. For several smaller markets not covered by Headset, we used data provided by state cannabis commissions or Leafly’s most recent statewide sales analysis.
