JOB SUMMARY

The Propagation Technician is responsible for supporting the cultivation team in the early growth stages of cannabis plants, from tending to stock plants to ensuring cuttings are healthy and ready for further cultivation. This role involves hands-on work in a controlled environment, requiring a detail-oriented approach to ensure consistent quality and adherence to regulatory and company standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

  • Monitor and maintain the health of the mother plant stock with daily watering assessments, defoliation, pruning, transplanting, and record keeping
  • Take and prepare cuttings for cloning from healthy mother plants
  • Keep detailed records of propagation watering, rooting levels, plant health, and success rates
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of propagation area, tools, and equipment
  • Monitor and maintain ideal growing temperature, humidity, lighting, and soil conditions
  • Work closely with other cultivation staff to coordinate schedules, share insights, and support cultivation goals
  • Follows standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects and follows all safety protocols
  • Assist with tracking and managing propagation supplies, such as cloning gel, trays, pots, soil, and other consumables
  • Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations related to cannabis cultivation and processing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1 year of experience in cannabis cultivation, nursery, or greenhouse environment
  • Physical ability to lift 25-50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment (e.g., bending, lifting, standing)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Understanding of environmental factors like humidity, lighting, and nutrients
  • Comfortable working in controlled environments with specialized lighting, equipment, and temperatures ranging from 70-85°F and humidity ranging from 60-80% RH
  • Knowledge of plant biology, cloning techniques, and cultivation best practices
  • Compliance with local and state cannabis regulations (may require background checks or licensing).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required); coursework in horticulture or plant sciences is a plus.
  • This role may require flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, depending on the needs of the cultivation team.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
