Position Summary
The Quality Control Intern will assist the QC department with routine tasks, with particular emphasis on the stability program and sample submission to third-party labs. The Quality Control Intern will be trained on all of the major day-to-day operations in the Quality Control lab. Part of the purpose of this position is to educate the employee and introduce them to quality principles and analytical chemistry in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of the stability program: Initiate stability studies, pull samples, submit samples to the required lab for testing, enter results into applicable reports and trackers, and write stability reports
- Submit samples to third-party laboratories for testing
- Assist with day-to-day operations in the QC lab: Preparing solutions (standards, mobile phases, diluents), hazardous waste management, cleaning the lab, and performing the daily checklist
- Assist with sample submission, preparation, analysis, work-up, and review
Education and Experience
- Must be working towards or have obtained within the last three years a bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in chemistry, microbiology, chemical engineering, or a related field
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Technology: Must be fluent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and able to type proficiently
- Time management: Be punctual, able to multitask, and able to prioritize tasks
- Communication: Be able to convey information in a professional manner in writing (emails, reports, investigations) and in person (meetings, discussions)
- Other soft skills: Be positive, driven, self-motivated, curious, and a problem solver
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Undergraduate: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution.
Post Undergraduate: Earned a bachelor’s degree within the past 12 months. Eligible for an internship period of up to one year.
