Responsibilities:
- Manage manufacturing, edibles and non flower packaging teams and all associated production tasks (formulation, blending, filling, edibles etc.)
- Test products new non flower products as directed by (New Product Development plan) and analyze data for quality to comply with NJ regulations and brand standards.
- Plan for and adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of goals.
- Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, processing equipment, packaging and labeling components are maintained in good working order
- Ensure that all processes are performed with attention to strict quality and safety standards, regulatory compliance, and all other applicable legal and food safety requirements.
- Contribute to creation and continuous improvement of TerrAscend process SOPs, work instructions, batch records, and controlled document revisions.
- Report to and actively support on a daily basis to State Director to insure attainment of goals and deadlines.
- Drive productivity and cost-effective production processes and develop innovative plans to achieve optimization.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed to complete critical tasks.
- Ensure proper communication of tasks through shift changes.
- Assist supply chain and demand planning with inventory for packaging and labeling components, finished products, and other items by maintaining accurate records.
- Coordinate with the inventory and testing department for non flower to ensure inventory is compliant.
- Adhere to safe chemical handling and disposal procedures as defined by SOPs and safety data sheets (SDS).
- Schedule all personnel needs to meet product manufacturing requirements in support of supply chain.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience & Education:
- Scientific / Chemistry degree and experience, strongly preferred.
- Education in organic and pharmaceutical chemistry; analytical chemistry, including analysis of medicinal products; pharmacology; pharmaceutical technology; or pharmacognosy.
- Management experience required.
- Manufacturing or process management experience with a technical background to oversee post-harvest processing and product manufacturing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing, team environment.
- Experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
- Experience working in a GMP manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred.
- Experience in the medical marijuana/cannabis industry is preferred but not required.
- Qualifications:
- Self-motivated to learn and improve.
- Strong mathematical skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide various units of measure.
- Proficient in computer programs including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and e-mail.
- Effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting and/or walking for extended periods.
- Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply information obtained from manuals, data sheets, or other documents.

Environmental Factors:
This position requires working in an environment that has a high amount of plant matter and pollen. Areas of the facility reach high/low temperatures with high humidity levels. Employees may have exposure to conditions such as dust, plant matter, and particles that affect the respiratory system, eyes, or skin, depending on department job assignments. Employees are required to wear protective gear and have the option to wear eye and ear protection. Certain areas of the facility use harsh chemicals for cleaning such as bleach and can have repetitive movements. Employees should be comfortable and capable of working under all of the above conditions.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50lbs
- Capable of sitting, standing kneeling, bending, squatting, and/or walking for extended periods of time
- Capable of using hands and fingers to touch, handle, feel and pick
- Ability to work with hazardous chemicals (butane, propane, etc.) following strict safety guidelines
- Utilize chemicals (such as bleach) to clean and maintain facility/equipment
- Must wear PPE (clothing protection), close-toed non-slip shoes, and optional ear/eye protection
