Job Summary:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant/pub. This includes, but is not limited to, supervising a staff of 25-55 employees, training and evaluating employee performance, organizing special events, payroll, public relations, maintaining HR and OSHA regulations, scheduling, interviewing and hiring, and overseeing all sales in the restaurant/pub. The GM is responsible for coaching, leading, and holding the entire leadership team accountable for budget, staffing, administration, safety, and any other duties delegated by the Regional Pub Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruiting, hiring, and training of all restaurant staff, supervisors, and other management
  • Scheduling employees to ensure shifts have proper coverage and overtime is kept to a minimum, following seasonal trends.
  • Continuous improvement and commitment to a great guest experience
  • Monitoring restaurant finances, including sales and expenses, to maintain a profitable business model
  • Enforcing food and alcohol handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety
  • Working with the Marketing team to find effective and creative new ways to bring in more customers
  • Managing the business’s daily monetary, banking deposits, safe, and tills.
  • Handles customer complaints, face to face, resolving issues in a diplomatic and courteous manner; including Yelp reviews.
  • Managing employee relations
    • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive at least twice annually
    • Handles discipline and termination of employees in conjunction with Human Resources and proper legal documentation
    • Creates goals and improvement plans for restaurant management staff
  • Ensures compliance with food and alcoholic beverage regulations, including ensuring all necessary staff have a valid OLCC Permit and/or a valid Food Handlers Card
  • Completing and issuing necessary paperwork, regarding sales, inventory, employee onboarding and all relative Workday functions
  • Approve and submit accurate biweekly payroll
  • Ensures compliance with all OSHA regulations and holds monthly safety meetings and quarterly safety walk through inspections
  • Effectively oversees all company policies and procedures are followed in conjunction with the 10 Barrel/ Tilray Employee Handbook
  • Periodically evaluates restaurant equipment for repairs and maintenance; schedules for service.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage industry.
  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to problems.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to manage people in a high-stress, fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with difficult customers.
  • Basic to Intermediate level proficiency in office-related software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Pub Manager.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • BA preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have Food Handlers Card & OLCC Permit
  • Minimum of 5 years restaurant management experience (preferably in the Microbrew Industry)
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check
  • Open availability, flexible, scheduled nights/weekends; role requires a minimum of 45 hours per week
  • Fluent with Microsoft Applications

Physical Requirements
  • Able to work 8+ hrs a day, 5 days per week; position is typically greater than 40 hours per week
  • Able to work varied schedule including evenings and weekends

  • Able to stand on your feet for a long period of time
