Job Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Multitasking & Workflow Management: Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
- Inventory & Ordering: Monitor inventory levels, place food and supply orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
- Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient workflow, especially during peak hours.
- Food Cost Management: Track food costs, analyze usage trends, and implement cost-control strategies to meet budget targets.
- Menu Planning & Execution: Collaborate with chefs to develop seasonal menus and special dishes that align with customer preferences and profitability goals.
- Training & Development: Train kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen procedures to maintain high standards.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and sanitation regulations, including ServSafe standards.
- Customer Satisfaction: Address customer feedback related to food quality and service, and implement improvements as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in kitchen management or supervisory culinary roles.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in inventory and scheduling software.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- ServSafe Manager Certification required.
