Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Testing Manager to oversee and coordinate third-party cannabis sampling and laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with all state regulations and internal quality standards while managing laboratory relationships, organizing and analyzing testing data, and generating comprehensive reports. This role is essential in maintaining product integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Third-Party Lab Coordination:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all third-party testing laboratories.
  • Schedule and oversee product sampling in accordance with state regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that proper chain-of-custody procedures are followed during all sampling activities.
• Compliance & Regulatory Oversight:
  • Stay up-to-date on local and state cannabis testing regulations and implement changes as needed.
  • Verify all products are tested according to required cannabinoid, terpene, microbial, pesticide, and heavy metal standards.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable records of testing procedures and results.
• Data Management and Analysis:
  • Organize and manage all testing data using spreadsheets, databases, or LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
  • Analyze testing results to identify trends, anomalies, or areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal quality assurance and production teams to address any non-compliance issues or failed results.
• Reporting & Documentation:
  • Generate clear, accurate, and timely reports summarizing test results and performance metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding testing schedules, outcomes, and compliance status.
  • Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.
• Lab Performance Monitoring:
  • Evaluate third-party labs for accuracy, turnaround time, pricing, and regulatory standing.
  • Provide feedback and recommend changes or alternatives as necessary to ensure consistent quality and service.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in cannabis, pharmaceutical, food safety, or environmental lab testing.
• Strong understanding of cannabis testing standards and state regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Experience with LIMS or other quality data management software.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working directly with third-party cannabis testing laboratories.
• Knowledge of state-specific cannabis regulations and testing protocols.
• Project management experience or certification.

Working Conditions:

• Office and on-site production environments.
• Must be able to travel to lab locations as needed.
