JOB SUMMARY
The Cultivation Vegetative Supervisor oversees all aspects of the vegetative growth stage in a commercial cannabis cultivation facility. This role ensures healthy plant development by managing daily operations, supervising staff, and enforcing compliance with company SOPs and state regulations. This role ensures optimal plant health, growth, and productivity by managing daily operations, supervising cultivation staff, and maintaining compliance with company protocols and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise Vegetative Operations - Manage all daily activities within the vegetative growth stage. Ensure cultivation schedules, environmental parameters, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are consistently followed to promote healthy uniform plant development.
- Manage Transplanting Processes - Supervise the transplanting of cannabis plants from propagation to vegetative stage rooms, and from vegetative to flowering rooms. Ensure proper handling to minimize transplant shock, maintain accurate plant tracking. Coordinate with propagation and flowering teams to ensure smooth transitions and optimal plant development.
- Lead and Develop Team - Supervise, train, delegate and provide ongoing performance feedback to vegetative cultivation employee. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and productivity. Verify staff use best practices and safety protocols to maintain a productive, efficient work environment.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Monitor Plant Health - Perform routine inspections to detect early signs of plant stress, pests, or disease and coordinate timely corrective actions.
- Maintain Compliance and Documentation - Accurately document of plant counts, growth stages, treatments, and environmental conditions. Ensure cultivation practices are compliant with company policies and/or all local and state regulations
- Oversee Cultivation Supply Inventory - Track and manage inventory levels of cultivation nutrients, tools, supplies and other applicable materials. Coordinate timely replenishment with procurement to prevent shortages or overstocks.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid Registered Agent Card
- Strong proactive approach with attention to detail, organization and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, regulated environment
- Able to communicate clearly, follow strict procedures, and be current with all cannabis laws ensuring full compliance
- Comfortable working in high humidity environments with strong plant odors and fluctuating temperatures
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and to follow sanitation and safety protocols
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 1+ years commercial cannabis cultivation experience with a strong focus on vegetative growth practices
- Strong understanding of plant biology, nutrient regimes, and environmental controls
- Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast paced setting
