The Operations Engineer is a hands-on position with the goal of maintaining, optimizing and innovating various pieces of commercial manufacturing equipment, customized automation, packaging equipment and physical plant systems. WHAT YOU WILL DO


  • Support production by ensuring the safe and proper operation, maintenance and repair of plant equipment and systems.  Adjust parameters as production requires.
  • Follow all GMP and safety and internal regulations and procedures.
  • Support the maintenance and preventative maintenance of various plant systems, manufacturing and supporting equipment.  Includes designing, testing and repairing equipment.
  • Identify deficiencies in both processes and equipment and help create modifications or solutions for improvement
  • Be able to learn lean manufacturing techniques to utilize them in the production improvement process.
  • Be able to collect and analyze data for the identification of process weaknesses.  This will include working with production crews, quality control specialists, and SME’s to create the best processes and outcomes.
  • Communicate with supervisor for direction.  The ability to keep supervisor informed of problems and equipment that is not working properly.  This includes documenting operation procedures and meetings, decisions, and future steps going forward.    Create reports based on need.
  • Perform duties with or without close supervision.
  • Coordinate and complete projects with outside vendors.
  • Communicate project statuses, risk analysis and risk mitigation plans and answer project questions in details.
  • Perform all other related duties as requested.
  • NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Participate in risk reduction team
  • Must promote a safe working environment and good GMP practices.
  • Help train new employees in established processes/equipment or in modified/improved processes and/or equipment
  • Be able to write SOP’s or OPL’s to support new processes/equipment.
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings (assembly) and schematics
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting: mechanical equipment, installing and repairing new equipment, and the ability to respond to machine and equipment issues in all areas of the facility.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work from an elevated platform.
  • Must be able to work independently, follow through and complete tasks, and handle a multi-task workload.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team with little to no supervision.
  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS


  • Two-year college or technical school; Minimum, Four Year Engineering Degree; Preferred
  • Basic knowledge of drawings and Computer Aided Design software
  • Basic to Medium knowledge of excel (pivot tables, databases), pdfs and word.
