JOB SUMMARY
The Cultivation Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of 5-7 Cultivation Technicians to ensure optimal plant health and productivity. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of plant care practices. The Cultivation Lead ensures all cultivation activities are performed in compliance with company policies and the regulations set forth by the state regulatory agency.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Team Leadership: Leading cultivation technicians and associates working in the flowering phase, providing training, maintaining a schedule, and performance feedback.
- Oversee Flowering Operations: Manage the flowering rooms, ensuring optimal environmental conditions (light, humidity, temperature) for plant development.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all activities comply with Illinois state regulations and company SOPs, including METRC tracking and inventory control.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Plant Health Monitoring: Identify and address issues such as pests, nutrient deficiencies, or diseases during the flowering stage.
- Harvest Coordination: Plan and execute harvests, ensuring proper timing and techniques to maximize yield and quality.
- Data Analysis: Track team performance metrics and adjust cultivation strategies accordingly.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to pass a background check
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Registered Agent Card
- Comfortable working in environments with high humidity, strong plant odors, and fluctuating temperatures
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and to follow sanitation and safety standards
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ years of experience in commercial cultivation, with a focus on flowering.
- Strong knowledge of plant biology and flowering cycles.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment.
