Job Summary

The operations planner manages daily and weekly schedules to optimize efficiency and meet demand. Responsibilities include adjusting schedules, coordinating with teams to minimize downtime, ensuring material readiness, and monitoring performance metrics. Clear communication with operations, packaging, and inventory teams ensures smooth production and on-time delivery. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares daily and weekly production schedules based upon demand and line optimization. 
  • Realigns schedule as needed to provide most accurate information and optimize work center efficiency. 
  • Works with purchasing and production to minimize line downtime due to scheduling and material issues. 
  • Gathers data to maintain Attainment and Adherence Metrics. Monitor Status assignments in Dutchie to confirm materials produced transfer to PBI.  
  • Communicate regularly with the Sr. Operations Manager about late orders or other issues that are hindering on time delivery. 
  • Ensures all labels and materials are prepared prior to work center production scheduled. 
  • Coordinate with the Data Analyst and Production Leads responsible for formulating to understand material available to Pre-Convert.  
  • Schedule weekly touchpoints with Packaging/Infusions managers to review estimated time required per work center based on standard run rates.  
  • Maintain a good communication path with the Inventory Team to identify new sku’s that need added to Dutchie for upcoming production along with templates for labels.

  • Operations scheduling experience

  • Data Analysis 

Education

High school diploma/GED preferred

Experience

Experience in the cannabis or agricultural industry preferred

Working conditions

  • The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
  • Frequently works in rooms with bright light where eye protection is required.
  • Frequently works in rooms with moderate heat and humidity.
  • The person in this position is constantly exposed to moderate background noise due to environmental systems, equipment and fans.

Physical requirements

  • Prolonged sitting, standing and / or walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift.
  • Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to inspect/maintain plants.
  • Occasionally operates power hand tools and other cultivation machinery.
  • Must be able to inspect and detect quality deviations and defects.
  • Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 50 pounds.
