SUMMARY: In this position, it is expected that every individual is willing to perform or learn any task pertaining to the lab, this includes, but is not limited to ethanol extractions, distillation, solventless extractions, vape cart filling, general housekeeping and anything else that will increase the quality and production of products the lab creates. All lab technicians must also be willing to work collaboratively to achieve lab goals, as many parts of each individual process directly correlate with others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work in hazardous environments and conditions.
- Conducts themselves safely and professionally within any part of the lab.
- Prepare and clean equipment and workspace efficiently.
- Create product in a mass production setting.
- Follows good manufacturing practice standards.
- Properly record appropriate information for any process being performed, always ensuring green waste is disposed of and recorded at the end of every shift when applicable.
- Maintaining system compliance, ensuring that all Metrc tags are in the correct location, so they can then be converted into final products.
- Operate and maintain Heidolph Roto Vaps
- Utilize Cup-15 to perform cold, green and RSO extractions
- Utilize PIG plate filter and/or Summit Research hochstrom to filter all extractions
- Recording appropriate extraction data in the Lab Master Log ·
- Monitor decarb process for oil in vacuum ovens, and record final oil weights in the Lab Master Log
- Maintaining a clean work area
- Cleaning all equipment involved in the ethanol extraction process- roto vaps, ovens, Cup-15, PIG filter, kegs, socks, etc.
- Operate the Shortpath and record specific run data in ‘Shortpath’ binder on desk as well as the overall yields in the Lab Master Log
- Operate the Cannabeast Wiped Film and record accurate data from each run in the Lab Master Log
- Record accurate weights of all inputs/outputs
- Vacuum pump maintenance, as well as other preventative maintenance listed in SOPs
- Maintenance of all temperature control units- cleaning as well as ensuring water, siloil or glycol is replaced when necessary
- Operate the Hashatron while following the wash schedule formed by the manager, regularly cleaning at the end of every shift and deep cleaning every Friday
- Pressing live rosin when scheduled
- Freeze dryer maintenance
- Utilize Harvest Right freeze dryers to dry bubble hash, ensuring the correct settings are being used
- Operate the Original Resinator to make kief, cleaning after every strain that goes through it if running multiple strains, deep cleaning at the end of every run
- Fill as many vape carts in a shift as possible, whether passively or full time, a lab tech should be able to average roughly 125 carts filled per hour dedicated to the ATG or Thompson Duke
- Accurately record how many carts were filled throughout the shift in the ‘vape cart filling log sheet’, once processed by a manager/lead in Dutchie, the info will be logged in the Lab Master Log
- Monitor outsourced terp inventory
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 yr + cannabis industry experience working within packaging and/or fulfillment ops
- High School diploma or Equivalent
- Must be 21 or older
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check annually
- Certain situations require that work is completed on weekends, afterhours, and holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Submit to a Federal and State background check.
- Meet the requirements delineated by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission for agent employment.
- Submit to a drug screen.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.
