Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager – Retail Facilities is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations of 60+ retail locations throughout Florida. This role ensures that all facilities are safe, functional, and aligned with company standards for cleanliness, compliance, and customer experience. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site retail environment and excels at managing vendors, scheduling preventive maintenance, and leading a small team or network of technicians. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all Ayr Wellness dispensaries are in working order and are maintained according to company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Communicate effectively with internal team members and external vendors to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Source, vet and manage potential vendors and suppliers across the state to create a statewide list of approved vendors within established budget.
  • Resolve all open tickets and coordinate with stores and vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner; avoiding workplace interruptions.
  • Perform monthly audits at dispensaries to ensure everything is functioning to company standards at retail level. Generate reports on these audit visits and share with appropriate team.
  • Effectively communicate with retail management team about any recommended changes or facility improvements/modifications.
  • Work with dispensary teams to achieve such improvements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Maintenance scheduling experience  

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, construction, electrical, or other suitable field of study is required (3+ years of relevant experience (maintenance & facilities) may substitute for education)

Experience

Experience in the cannabis or retail industry preferred

Working conditions

  • The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
  • Frequently works in rooms with bright light where eye protection is required.
  • Frequently works in rooms with moderate heat and humidity.
  • The person in this position is constantly exposed to moderate background noise due to environmental systems, equipment and fans.

Physical requirements

  • Prolonged sitting, standing and / or walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift.
  • Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder to inspect/maintain plants.
  • Occasionally operates power hand tools and other cultivation machinery.
  • Must be able to inspect and detect quality deviations and defects.
  • Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 50 pounds.
