JOB SUMMARY
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and daily coordination of all cannabis transportation operations, ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient delivery of product between licensed facilities and to retail or wholesale customers. This position ensures all drivers are trained, scheduled, and performing within state compliance requirements and internal company policies. The Transportation Supervisor supports regulatory compliance, logistics planning, and safety initiatives across the transportation department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise and schedule transport staff - To ensure timely and compliant deliveries of cannabis products, including covering shifts when needed.
- Ensure compliance with state cannabis transportation laws - (e.g., chain-of-custody, manifests, route planning, secure vehicle protocols).
- Conduct and document driver training - Including safety procedures, state-mandated regulations, and internal SOPs.
- Maintain oversight of transport logs - Delivery manifests, vehicle inspection records, and security protocols.
- Act as liaison with compliance, inventory, and retail/wholesale teams - To ensure product is picked up and delivered accurately and securely.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Assist in onboarding new transport agents and conducting periodic performance reviews.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and escalate concerns about delays, deviations, or unusual behavior.
- Ensure all vehicles are clean, functional, and scheduled for regular maintenance.
- Respond to transportation incidents or emergencies, including product loss, accidents, or law enforcement interactions.
- Assist in audit preparation and respond to internal or external inquiries regarding transportation activity.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 25 years old, able to pass a background check, and have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Registered Agent Card
- At least 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in transportation, logistics, delivery, or related field.
- Working knowledge of state cannabis regulations governing transportation or willingness to learn them.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, GPS systems, and mobile communication tools.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience in cannabis logistics or secured transport, including knowledge of METRC or similar track-and-trace systems.
- Familiarity with fleet management software and route optimization tools.
- OSHA 10 or other safety certification.
