Position Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control at our cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Athol, MA and Amesbury, MA. This role ensures product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the production lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of GMP, MA Cannabis compliance, and quality systems in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage the Quality Management Program for cannabis cultivation, extraction, packaging, and distribution operation in MA
• Ensure compliance with MA Cannabis Regulatory testing rules, GMP standards, and internal SOPs.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Assurance Associates to perform inspections, monitor critical control points, and support all quality activities.
• Schedule and supervise daily quality inspections for cultivation, extraction, packaging, and warehouse areas to ensure compliance with SOPs and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting for team performance and process improvement.
• Manage quality requirements for new product launches and product release.
• Oversee product testing and results from third-party laboratories; ensure testing practices and COAs meet all required specifications and regulations.
• Investigate quality issues, deviations, and customer complaints; implement CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions).
• Maintain proper documentation, including SOPs, training logs, testing samples, COAs and regulatory filings.
• Collaborate with cultivation, lab, production, and compliance teams to promote a quality-first culture.
• Provide training on quality procedures, hygiene practices, and regulatory updates to staff.
• Travel to the Amesbury, MA location to perform supervisory and QA activities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, Quality Assurance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a quality role in cannabis preferred, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or a similar regulated industry is required.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, and MA cannabis compliance.
• Strong knowledge of documentation practices, inspection procedures and recordkeeping and testing protocols.
• Experience with lab testing coordination and interpreting Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Comfortable working onsite in a production environment; PPE use required.
• Must pass a background check in compliance with MA cannabis employment regulations.
• Valid Drivers license to travel by car to Amesbury, MA and retail locations as needed.

• Requires standing, lifting, and walking through facility areas regularly.
